Obituary
Death of Young Wife and Mother – Funeral services for Mrs. G. R. Snow, 39, Little Rock, Ark., former Clintonian who died at Little Rock Feb 11, were conducted at 2:00 p. m., Feb. 13, at the Vansant Funeral Home by the Rev. L. L. Johnston. “In the Garden” and “Gathering Flowers for the Master’s Bouquet” were sung as a duet by Mrs. Glenn Briggs and Mrs. Dehn Batschelett, accompanied by William Racer. Interment was in Englewood Cemetery with cousins, Elmer Dehn, Lester Dehn, Darrell Dehn, Robert Barbee, Earl Batschelett and Wallace Thompson, as pallbearers.

Services were held the previous day at 10:30 a. m., in North LIttle Rock with Dr. W. Henry Goodloe and the Rev. J. L. Pruitt officiating.

Escorting the body to Clinton were Burney Stanley, regional service supervisor for International Harvester Company, and Ben Brann, also with the IHC and employed with Mr. Snow, service supervisor, who has been with the company 20 years.

Viola Virginia Zehnder, the younger of two children of the late Fred and Mrs. Maude Dehn Zehnder was born Dec. 28, 1918, West of Clinton where she grew to young womanhood. On Dec 24, 1937, she married Gilbert R. Snow and they first made their home in Springfield, Mo., later moving to St. Joseph, Bethany and Kansas City, Mo. They had made their home the past six years in Little Rock. Three children blessed this union, one, Robert Dehn, dying in infancy.

Early in life she united with the LaDue Methodist Church and had transferred to the Little Rock Methodist Church in which she was quite active, especially with the youth organizations.

She dedicated her life to her family, home, and youth. She was most active in P.T.A. work and with the Brownies of the Girl Scouts. The young people were ever welcome in her home where genuine hospitality reigned and comradeship was warm and sincere. A devoted wife and mother, she was held dear by many friends.

Mrs. Snow had been in ill health for the past 1 1/2 years and hospitalized on various occasions. Her death occurred in a LIttle Rock hospital were she had been five days. Her mother, Mrs. Maude Zehnder had been at her bedside since Jan. 12.

Although she knew the gravity of her illness she never complained. She continued to make her plans and assumed a cheerful attitude, with patience and constant thoughtfulness for others.

She leaves her husband, a daughter, Sxxxxx Jxxx 11 and a son, Cxxx Lxxxx, 6, of the home; her mother, Mrs. Zehnder, and grandmother, Mrs. John Dehn, 215 South Orchard; a sister, Mrs. L. C. (Thelma) Moreland, Harrisonville; other relatives and many close friends.

Mrs. Maude Zehnder and daughter, Mrs. Moreland, accompanied Mr. Snow and his children to their home Feb. 16 in Litter Rock and will remain for the present.
